The Landscape of Fear

Filmabend zu Menschenrechten und Migration mit drei Kurzfilmen:
„The Landscape of Fear“ ist ein Dokumentarfilm von Kasia Herz und ein Versuch aus erster Hand, sich mit den Erfahrungen der Ereignisse an der polnisch-belarusischen Grenze während einer humanitären Krise auseinanderzusetzen, die Teil eines eskalierenden Konflikts zwischen großen geopolitischen Kräften geworden ist.
„We Have Not Lived in Vain“ ist ein Dokumentarfilm von Nick Antipov und Bart Staszewski, der die Geschichte der Proteste erzählt, die 2020 in Belarus ausbrachen, durch die Augen von LGBTQ+-Aktivist*innen.
„Nia byc skotam“ ist ein Dokumentarfilm von Malanka Media über Menschenrechtsverteidiger*innen aus Viasna, die vor dem Hintergrund der Repressionen in Belarus im erzwungenen Exil arbeiten.
Der Filmabend ist Teil der Wochenendveranstaltung Osteuropaforum, das vom 1. bis 4. Juni in Hamburg stattfindet. Das Forum widmet sich dem Antikolonialismus und der Solidarität mit Menschen, die vom Krieg in der Ukraine und dem militärischen Angriff betroffen sind sowie dem Kontext der politischen Gefangenen in Belarus und der derzeitigen Menschenrechtssituation.

Three short films will be screened during this event:
"The Landscape of Fear" is a documentary from Kasia Herz and a first-hand attempt to grapple with the experience of events on the Polish-Belarusian border during a humanitarian crisis that has become part of an escalating conflict of major geopolitical forces, clashing in the struggle for dominance on the newly drawn world map, where the lines of national borders also mark the limits of safety.
"We Have Not Lived in Vain" is a documentary from Nick Antipov and Bart Staszewski that tells the story of the protests that erupted in Belarus in 2020 through the eyes of LGBTQ+ activists.
"Nia byc skotam" - a documentary from Malanka Media about Viasna human rights defenders working in forced exile in the current context of repressions in Belarus.
This movie night is part of the Eastern European Forum taking place June 1-4 in Hamburg. The forum is dedicated to anti-colonialism and solidarity with people affected by the war in Ukraine and the military attack of the Russian and Belarusian regimes, as well as to political prisoners in Belarus and the current human rights situation.
